Miss L was a 41-year-old play therapist from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire who whilst acting in the course of her employment, walked into the dining hall of the premises. Her symptoms improved but as she continued to experience ongoing symptoms and as she was aware of a prominence of the metalwork under the skin, she underwent removal of the metalwork as a day case procedure under general anaesthesia in January 2018. She recovered from this operation over a period of two weeks. This helped to improve her symptoms and the majority of her symptoms have resolved.
