Head Injury Claim in Wolverhampton for Football Fan

Ardent Terrier fan, Mr S was a passenger on an Away Day coach, owned and operated by a local Huddersfield coach company.

Whilst on the journey back from Wolverhampton, where Huddersfield Town pulled clear of the relegation zone with a 3-1 win whilst being manager by former Manchester United player Mark Robins, Mr S’s euphoria was short-lived as the luggage rack positioned above his seat suddenly collapsed and struck Mr S on his head and shoulder causing painful injuries.

The Coach owners denied responsibility for Mr S’s injuries and after a long fight, Grieves Solicitors was forced to pursue the matter through Huddersfield Court.

After painstakingly obtaining expert witness evidence in support of Mr S’s claim, and as a result of the excellent witness statements Grieves obtained, the defendants decided to avoid court by settling and paying compensation to Mr S. The case was listed for trial at the end of January 2016 but the defendant agreed to settle the claim 10 days before trial in the sum of £4,500.

It is unlikely that the defendants would have settled the claim if Mr S had pursued the case without the expertise of a specialist personal injury practice.

Excellent witness evidence obtained by Grieves Solicitors was the likely catalyst in their change of heart. In addition, Grieves Solicitors was able to offer a no win no fee, funding arrangement to Mr S, enabling him to pursue his claim all the way, to include financing the medical report required to prove his injuries and the court fees required to sue the Coach Company.

We were delighted to settle Mr S’s claim successfully and Mr S is keen to recommend our services to other victims of negligence who require an expert personal injury litigation team to pursue their claim successfully.
