Bus Passenger Accident & Injury Claim Slaithwaite, Yorkshire
Mr M was a passenger at the rear of the first floor of a double-decker bus travelling from Huddersfield to Slaithwaite (the bus was actually heading for Manchester) when he was involved in a road traffic accident.
During this journey, he suddenly and without warning felt a collision and heard a big bang. He then turned around to see broken glass all over the front of the floor of the bus but no –one around him on the bus could work out what exactly had happened. The driver of the bus had exited his cab when the vehicle stopped and told everyone to get off the bus.
Mr M did not ask for his ticket as the driver had initially said there no need and that he should tell the next bus driver that he had been involved in a crash. Mr M suffered an injury on the base of his right foot. There were cuts like scratches going into a puncture type wound. Mr M was shocked and upset as a result of the accident and he ended up losing his job as a result.
As experienced RTA Solicitors in Huddersfield, we acted for Mr. M. We needed to prove Mr M was indeed on the bus by sending a colour photograph to the Defendant so they could check their CCTV footage. This led to an early admission of responsibility by the Bus Company for our client’s bus accident. The next step was to obtain medical evidence to prove his injuries. It soon became apparent that Mr M had suffered not only physical injuries but that the accident had an impact on him psychologically. However, after hospital treatment his physical injuries improved and Mr M was of the opinion that after the stress of litigation his psychological state of mind would soon improve.
A schedule of his financial losses was prepared and Mr M received the Compensation he deserved for his bus accident.
